Designed exclusively for pharmacist members of the National Pharmaceutical Association, this virtual program empowers professionals with the skills, tools, and confidence to display leadership capabilities in various areas throughout the profession.

          About Dr. Henry Lewis III


          Dr. Henry Lewis III is a pharmacist, educator, and civic leader whose career has been dedicated to advancing health equity, education, and leadership among minority health professionals.

          A graduate of Florida A&M University and Mercer University, Dr. Lewis served as a longtime faculty member and dean at FAMU’s College of Pharmacy, later becoming dean of Texas Southern University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and president of Florida Memorial University.

          His leadership has helped secure more than $100 million in funding to support education, research, and healthcare initiatives serving underserved communities.

          Beyond academia, Dr. Lewis made history as the first African American elected to the Leon County Board of County Commissioners in Florida, where he championed economic development, affordable housing, and environmental protections.

          His career reflects a lifelong commitment to preparing future leaders, shaping policy, and serving as a strong voice for underserved populations.

            Program Components

            Guest Speaker Lectures (1.5 hours)

              • Bi-monthly engaging sessions led by experts and thought leaders.

            Small Group Meetings (2 hours)

              • Monthly meetings among track members dedicated to collaborative projects and assignments.

            Executive Coach Group Session (2-2.5 hours)

              • A focused bi-monthly session led by an executive coach that includes a 30-minute presentation on a leadership or professional development topic. 

            Book Club Meetings (Optional, 1 hour)

              • Informal gatherings where participants discuss pre-selected books relevant to leadership and personal growth topics.

            Final Capstone Group Presentation (1 hour)

              • Presented via Zoom and open to all NPhA members, this session provides an opportunity for reflection, highlights key achievements, and offers a platform for feedback and recognition. 

              • Additionally, the project will be displayed as a poster presentation at the 2025 NPhA Annual Convention.
